(Location: Toshima-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Yoshinori Hiki) announces that it will begin sequential shipments of the "Sustaina Motion" safety device, a watch-keeping system, as a safety device based on the safety standards of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism guidelines in April.

The product has been included in a list of safety devices prepared by the Cabinet Office as an automatic detection type product that conforms to the "Guidelines for Safety Devices to Support the Prevention of Buses from Being Left Behind for Pick-up and Drop-off" established by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism.
The product can be introduced as a subsidy-eligible product (certification number: B-004), and shipments will begin sequentially in April.
Background and Issues
With the recent spate of accidents involving children left behind on pick-up buses (accidents involving children left behind) and incidents at kindergartens and nursery schools, the need to constantly watch over our precious children has only increased, and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism has established guidelines for safety measures.
In line with the guidelines established by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism for safety devices to assist in preventing pick-up and drop-off buses from being left behind, we developed a safety device by combining our proprietary system development technology with hardware from an onboard equipment vendor.
This safety device is a lineup of the "Sustaina Motion" watchdog system.
By linking with our "Sustaina Motion" monitoring system, additional functions such as real-time transmission of in-vehicle images to the guardian's smartphone and automatic notification and distribution of images to the administrator in the event of an abnormality can be used (please consult with us separately).

Safety Devices of the "Sustaina Motion" Monitoring System
Sustainamotion's safety devices are configured to meet safety standards for preventing accidents involving left behind passengers by courtesy buses. Safety devices are automatically activated after the engine is stopped, and various devices are used to prevent "left behind" accidents.
Five minutes after the engine is stopped, the safety device equipment automatically activates to detect whether any occupants have been left behind in the vehicle. In the event that an occupant is left inside the vehicle, the sensor detects the occupant and an alarm is issued outside the vehicle to notify the surrounding area that an occupant has been left behind.

Pressing the emergency button can also trigger an external alarm.
Guidelines for Safety Devices to Assist in Preventing Pick-up and Drop-off Buses from Being Left Behind
In December 2022, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) established "Guidelines for Safety Devices to Support the Prevention of Pick-up and Drop-off Buses from Being Left Behind" to prevent tragic accidents caused by human error. The guidelines define the requirements for products to be recognized as anti-leaving devices and mandate the installation of anti-leaving devices on more than 40,000 courtesy buses for kindergartens, nursery schools, etc., beginning April 2023, with a one-year transitional measure.
The government has decided to provide a fixed subsidy of 175,000 yen per bus at a meeting of relevant ministries and agencies to ensure the safety of buses transporting children to and from kindergartens, daycare centers, and certified child care centers.
