To provide parents and children with opportunities to casually experience masterpieces by Katsushika Hokusai and others.

Nice to meet you. We are Maria Project K.K. (CEO: Tomomi Okuno, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo), a company that supports child-rearing through intellectual education, and we are pleased to announce that starting Wednesday, September 14, "KIKASETE," an intellectual education application that develops children's ability to think and communicate, will be offering a "painting appreciation curriculum. The new features include drawing and photography.

According to a survey conducted by the Agency for Cultural Affairs, 56.8% of respondents who answered that they "did not directly appreciate any cultural and artistic events" during the year cited "the impact of the new coronavirus infection" as the reason. The results also show that there is a high expectation for children's cultural and artistic experiences to develop their sensibility and non-cognitive abilities, with "increase in creativity and ingenuity" (52.31 TP6T) and "development of sensitivity to beauty and other aspects" (43.0%) as expected benefits. (Public opinion poll on culture, March 2021, Agency for Cultural Affairs)
KIKASETE" aims to develop children's "ability to think and communicate" by reading picture books to them and asking questions that have no correct answers through a dialogue function that elicits feelings and thoughts. We have created a new "Picture Book Appreciation Curriculum". The picture book features a famous painting and explains the artist, historical background, and techniques. The subject paintings include Katsushika Hokusai's "Fugaku Sanjurokkei (Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji) Kanagawa-okiinamiura (Kanagawa Okinamiura)" and Millet's "Ophelia. In addition to the usual interactive functions, the curriculum includes drawing and photography functions that allow students to freely express what they feel when they see the paintings. While there is a movement to refrain from going out due to a series of cancellations and postponements of cultural and artistic events due to the Corona disaster, the students can easily enjoy viewing paintings in the comfort of their own homes.
The product owner herself is a mother juggling work and raising five children, and her desire to "further expand the possibilities of picture books" led to the creation of the "painting curriculum.
Through this new feature, we hope to expand the possibilities for learning at home.
We understand that you are very busy, but we would be grateful if you could cover this issue and help us to reach more people with the help of the press.
