BabyTech TOUCH Exhibitor Spotlight

From the Editor
DNP Dainippon Printing, Akachan Honpo and Papa Smile are collaborating to hold BabyTech TOUCH, an event where visitors can directly see and touch BabyTech products and services and find a partner for their childcare needs. Among the 20 products and services exhibited at the event, we would like to introduce in the form of an interview the non-contact motion sensor "Babysense Home" provided by Babysense Japan LLC (hereinafter referred to as "Babysense"), which monitors the body movements of infants.

"What is 'Baby Sense Home'?

Editor: What is the Baby Sense Home product?

BABYSENSE: BABYSENSE Home uses a sensitive sensor panel to detect and monitor your baby's slightest movements (body movements) during sleep. An alarm alerts you when the movements stop for 20 seconds or become less than 10 movements per minute.
products based on the BabySense technology have been installed in medical and childcare facilities in Japan for 23 years, with a cumulative total of over 100,000 units, making it the No.1 product in Japan. We are proud of the fact that our products have a long and stable reputation and are very reliable.
The device can be installed in either a cot or a futon, and is easy to operate with just a power button on/off. The sensor panel and other devices do not come into direct contact with the baby.

Selling products to the public is a challenge for the first time. BabyTech TOUCH is also the first to display a real machine!

Editor: I understand that until now Baby Sense has not been sold to the general public.

BABYSENSE: The original BABYSENSE was an advanced medical device and could not be sold to the general public. It was a product that could only be used on a rental basis under the guidance of a doctor. In the midst of the COVID-19 disaster last year, we created BABYSENSE Home as a general medical device in order to make it easier for ordinary people to buy a sensor that can watch over their infants and give them peace of mind at home. This is the first time that we have sold a product to the general public.
The BabyTech TOUCH exhibition is also the first time we have exhibited in a physical shop.
We hope that this exhibition will be a good opportunity for people to learn more about a simple, proven and reliable sleep monitoring product.

From the Editor
At BabyTech TOUCH, we received a lot of interest, especially from maternity mums and dads. Some mothers and fathers said that the two sets of sensors would give them peace of mind as the sensors cover a wide area, even if their baby turns over or their sleeping position deteriorates as their legs get stronger, and some mothers and fathers with three-month-old children said, "This is the same one that was in the hospital.
A mother and father with a three-month-old child said, "Oh, isn't this the one from the hospital?" and a mother and father with a three-month-old child said, "I've seen this one at home too."
We also heard from mothers and fathers with three-month-old children that it is reassuring to know that something they have already used at a medical institution can also be used at home. The fact that the system has a proven track record in medical institutions has led to this kind of response.

Editor: With its simple construction, ease of use and reliable features, we feel that the panel-based home sleep monitoring system will become increasingly popular in the future. We would like to take this opportunity to let more people know about it. Thank you very much for taking the time to answer our questions.
