Yokohama City's "Walking Point Project" Effects of Reducing Medical Expenses Calculated using data

The science of the relationship between walking and health -.

In fiscal year 2017, the City of Yokohama will launch a project to verify whether the amount of walking by citizens is linked to the curbing of medical costs and improvement of health. The city has already launched a "Walking Point Program" in which participants can win prizes according to the number of steps they take. The effectiveness of the program will be calculated based on data on the number of steps taken by participants and their history of visits to medical institutions.

The only financial burden on participants is the 630 yen shipping fee for the pedometer. Currently, 230,000 residents and workers participate in the program, and from FY 2018 onward, a smartphone application will be introduced to serve as a pedometer to encourage participation by young people.

Many businesses in Kanagawa Prefecture are participating. It's a pretty big deal. The rankings are also listed, but they are quite close. The average number of steps per person seems to be the same in all areas.

We are looking for a company that can develop an app (as of May 24, 2017) with the gymnastics to switch to a smartphone pedometer app instead of a pedometer starting in 2018. Our company is having difficulty due to lack of resources, but if you are interested, please contact us!
