Response to the New Coronavirus

As of June 29, our AWARD's response to the new coronavirus infection is as follows. This is subject to change depending on the course of the second wave of infection and other factors that are predicted to continue. We apologize for the concern of those who have already entered the award, but this measure is taken to ensure that safe and secure BabyTech products will be duly evaluated under the circumstances. Extend the entry period for products until July 15, 2020.

The sample submission period for device systems will be changed from July 1 to July 20 to avoid risks when coming to work for shipping and delivery

The second round of judging will be in the form of a presentation via online video streaming.

The award ceremony and exhibition will be held on November 26 and 27, 2020, during the new Childcare Expo 2020 (previously announced on April 15, 2020).

Overseas exhibition of the awarded products will be postponed to an appropriate time in light of the spread of the infection in the U.S. (previously reported on April 15, 2020).

For device equipment

Regardless of when it was released,December 31, 2020Products that are available or scheduled to be available to individuals or corporations in Japan as of the date of the application.and the name and products can be publicized with the announcement of the first-round winners (Qualified award winners) on July 31, 2020.

  1. Products that have not yet been announced at the time of application may be submitted as long as they meet the above requirements.
  2. Please lend us samples that demonstrate the planned performance of your actual product, such as prototypes or test equipment. Samples should be sent to the Secretariat between July 1 and July 20, 2020.
  3. Loaned sample equipment will be returned to you on a rolling basis starting July 31.
  4. If a device is a test unit under development, it may not be considered for review unless its performance can be verified to be equivalent to that of the actual product.
  5. For imported products, the products must be localized for the Japanese market by the importer's Japanese subsidiary or by a company or organization that has concluded a sole agency, sole distributor or license agreement with the importer.

  1. Even beta versions are eligible as long as they are released in an open and available to customers. (If it is a closed beta version as of December 31, it is not eligible.)
  2. Applications or services that have not yet been released or announced at the time of application may be submitted in a version under development, as long as they meet the above requirements.
  3. If the application is unreleased or unpublished at the time of application, it may not be considered unless the performance and content can be verified to be equivalent to the application or service for which a version under development has been released.

About the Applicant

Applicants must be the business entity (developer/manufacturer, owner, or operator) or a company or organization that has been commissioned by the business entity. In the case of a commissioned company or organization, the consent of the business entity is required.

We accept applications in the name of individuals, organizations, municipalities, schools, kindergartens, nursery schools, medical institutions, research institutes, etc.

    Is the argument for the issue (focus point) clear and is the granularity of extraction appropriate?
    Do you have a strong awareness of issues, concerns, and thoughts about the childcare environment?
    Does the solution assume that the issues can be adequately covered?
  • Novelty, originality
    Does a similar product exist in the entry?
    Compared to similar products, are there any unique initiatives, and do these initiatives create an advantage?
    Are the one-of-a-kind appeal points leading to the right advantages?
  • Functionality, ease of use
    Is the system designed to be easy to use for the target users, and does it ensure reliable operation?
    For devices, are they easy to install and can they be used in a few steps (e.g., with a single button press)?
    If it is a community service, is it structured to make it easy for anyone to participate?
  • Prospects, continuity
    Is it intended for long-term use, not just short-term perspective?
    Is there potential for future development, such as envisioning approaches to new areas of coexistence?
