outline

Japan's first IoT type fetal monitor, "iCTG," is a device that can measure the heartbeat of the fetus and the tension in the pregnant woman's abdomen at home. When the sensor is placed on the pregnant woman's abdomen and measurements are taken, the results are displayed in an application on a smartphone or tablet via Bluetooth connection.

The perinatal telemedicine platform "Melody i" is a communication platform that allows pregnant women to send the results of their measurements to their family doctor, who can then remotely recommend a consultation or other diagnosis. In addition to collaboration between pregnant women and their doctors, it is also possible to link data from clinics to core hospitals with NICUs.

By utilizing these "iCTG" & "Melodyi", we will create an environment where pregnant women in Japan and overseas can give birth with greater peace of mind and safety.

Solutions to problems and unique innovations

For the first time in Japan, we have developed an ultra-compact and mobile version of the conventional delivery monitoring device, which could only be used in hospitals, so that pregnant women can take measurements by themselves anytime and anywhere.

To make it easier for pregnant women to take measurements, the device is designed for use at home, with a speaker that allows the fetal heartbeat sound to be heard directly and Bluetooth connectivity.

The combination of measurements at home and remote diagnosis by a doctor gives pregnant women peace of mind and reduces the burden of hospital visits and hospitalization. In addition, by being able to take measurements before a doctor's visit, fetal abnormalities can be detected at an early stage, increasing the possibility of reducing unexpected situations such as fetal death.

WE ARE ALSO CONSIDERING INTRODUCING AI-BASED PRIMARY SCREENING AND CLOUD-BASED ONLINE DIAGNOSTIC SERVICES TO MAKE THEM AVAILABLE TO MORE PREGNANT WOMEN.

BabyTech Editor's Comment

It is a common telemedicine platform in the United States. In Japan, the number of facilities handling births has decreased by more than 20% over the past 10 years. While pregnant women are burdened by long-distance hospital visits and long waiting times, the percentage of elderly births has exceeded 28%, requiring a higher level of care.
